PAPSAC 2026

The 2026 Private and Public Scientific, Academic and Consumer Food Policy Group (PAPSAC) Conference will take place October 3-4, 2026, at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. This year's conference is especially meaningful, as we come together to celebrate and honor the life of Professor Emeritus Ray Goldberg, who passed away recently at the age of 99.

Lean in and lead

For more than three decades, Ray convened PAPSAC to foster open, candid dialogue among leaders across the global food system - farmers, business leaders, scientists, policymakers, academics, and leaders from non-profit organizations.

His vision, generosity, and deep commitment to public purpose shaped the discussions each year in Cambridge.  If you’re familiar with PAPSAC, you know this is a special community and a unique annual opportunity for frank discussion among leaders in agriculture and food.

PAPSAC

PAPSAC is an invitation‑only forum at Harvard that convenes senior leaders from agribusiness, government, academia, and consumer organizations. It meets annually to host candid, off‑the‑record discussions on global food and agriculture policy, markets, and public trust. It has evolved into a trusted space where diverse views in the room can surface and be challenged, helping participants navigate contentious issues in the global food system and build long‑term relationships across the value chain from farm suppliers to retailers and consumers.

The Harvard Global Food Systems Program

The Global Food Systems Program at Harvard is the umbrella under which PAPSAC sits, providing a platform for convening, research, and action on the future of global food systems. It brings together stakeholders from around the world and the best of Harvard – across science, business, and policy – to examine how food is produced, traded, governed, and consumed, with a focus on nutrition, climate, equity, and resilience.
